    Several baryons containing a heavy b-quark have been discovered. The decays of these states provide new platform for testing the standard model (SM). We study CPCP violation in SM for charmless two-body decays of the flavor SU(3)SU(3) anti-triplet beauty baryon (b-baryon) B=(Ξbβˆ’,β€…β€ŠΞžb0,β€…β€ŠΞ›b0){\cal B} = (\Xi^-_b,\;\Xi^0_b,\;\Lambda_b^0) in a model independent way. We found, in the flavor SU(3)SU(3) symmetry limit, a set of new predictive relations among the branching ratio BrBr and CPCP asymmetry ACPA_{CP} for B\cal B decays, such as ACP(Ξbβˆ’β†’K0Ξžβˆ’)/ACP(Ξbβˆ’β†’KΛ‰0Ξ£βˆ’)=βˆ’Br(Ξbβˆ’β†’KΛ‰0Ξ£βˆ’)/Br(Ξbβˆ’β†’K0Ξ£βˆ’)A_{CP}(\Xi_b^-\to K^0 \Xi^-)/A_{CP}(\Xi_b^-\to \bar K^0 \Sigma^-) = - Br(\Xi_b^- \to \bar K^0 \Sigma^-)/Br(\Xi_b^- \to K^0 \Sigma^-), ACP(Ξ›b0β†’Ο€βˆ’p)/ACP(Ξb0β†’Kβˆ’Ξ£+)=βˆ’Br(Ξb0β†’Kβˆ’Ξ£+)τΛb0/Br(Ξ›b0β†’Ο€βˆ’p)Ο„Ξžb0A_{CP}(\Lambda_b^0 \to \pi^- p)/A_{CP} (\Xi^0_b \to K^- \Sigma^+) = -Br(\Xi^0_b \to K^- \Sigma^+)\tau_{\Lambda_b^0}/Br(\Lambda_b^0 \to \pi^- p)\tau_{\Xi^0_b},and ACP(Ξ›b0β†’Kβˆ’p)/ACP(Ξb0β†’Ο€βˆ’Ξ£+)=βˆ’Br(Ξb0β†’Ο€βˆ’Ξ£+)τΛb0/Br(Ξ›b0β†’Kβˆ’p)Ο„Ξžb0A_{CP}(\Lambda_b^0 \to K^- p)/ A_{CP} (\Xi^0_b \to \pi^- \Sigma^+) = -Br(\Xi^0_b \to \pi^- \Sigma^+)\tau_{\Lambda_b^0}/ Br(\Lambda_b^0 \to K^- p)\tau_{\Xi^0_b}. Future data from LHCb can test these relations and also other relations found.Comment: 13 pages, no figure, 6 tables, several missing terms in eq.11 are adde

CP violation in neutrino mixing with Ξ΄=βˆ’Ο€/2\delta = -\pi/2 in A4A_4 Type-II seesaw model

    Get PDF
We study a class of models for neutrino mass matrix in Type-II seesaw with A4A_4 family symmetry. The resulting neutrino mass matrix can be naturally made to respect a ΞΌβˆ’Ο„\mu-\tau exchange plus CP conjugate symmetry (GLS) with the CP violating phase Ξ΄\delta and the mixing angle ΞΈ23\theta_{23} predicted to be Β±Ο€/2\pm\pi/2 and Ο€/4\pi/4, respectively. When GLS is explicitly broken by complex Yukawa couplings, the model predictions for Ξ΄\delta and ΞΈ23\theta_{23} can be significantly modified. Should future experiments will indeed determine ΞΈ23\theta_{23} and Ξ΄CP\delta_{CP} away from the GLS limit values, one then had to consider models with broken GLS. We study several simple scenarios to show how the modifications arise when GLS is broken and how future experiments can test this class of models.Comment: 15 pages, 3 figures, minor errors corrected. Some Predictions of Diquark Model for Hidden Charm Pentaquark Discovered at the LHCb

The LHCb has discovered two new states with preferred JPJ^P quantum numbers 3/2βˆ’3/2^- and 5/2+5/2^+ from Ξ›b\Lambda_b decays. These new states can be interpreted as hidden charm pentaquarks. It has been argued that the main features of these pentaquarks can be described by diquark model. The diquark model predicts that the 3/2βˆ’3/2^- and 5/2+5/2^+ are in two separate octet multiplets of flavor SU(3)SU(3) and there is also an additional decuplet pentaquark multiplet. Finding the states in these multiplets can provide crucial evidence for this model. The weak decays of b-baryon to a light meson and a pentaquark can have Cabibbo allowed and suppressed decay channels. We find that in the SU(3)SU(3) limit, for UU-spin related decay modes the ratio of the decay rates of Cabibbo suppressed to Cabibbo allowed decay channels is given by ∣Vcd∣2/∣Vcs∣2|V_{cd}|^2/|V_{cs}|^2. There are also other testable relations for b-baryon weak decays into a pentaquark and a light pseudoscalar. These relations can be used as tests for the diquark model for pentaquark.Comment: revtex, 19 pages, 3 figures. one reference added and some typos correcte

U-spin analysis of CP violation in Bβˆ’B^- decays into three charged light pseudoscalar mesons

We carry out a UU-spin symmetry analysis for CP violation in Bβˆ’B^- decays into three light Ο€βˆ’Ο€βˆ’Ο€+\pi^-\pi^-\pi^+, Ο€βˆ’Kβˆ’K+\pi^- K^-K^+, Kβˆ’Kβˆ’K+K^-K^-K^+ and Kβˆ’Ο€βˆ’Ο€+K^- \pi^-\pi^+ mesons. We clarify some subtle points in constructing decay amplitudes with U=0U=0 formed by the two negatively charged light mesons in the final states. UU-spin conserving momentum independent and momentum dependent decay amplitudes, and UU-spin violating decay amplitudes due to quark mass difference are constructed.Comment: RevTex 12 pages wit no figur

    Implications on Ξ·\eta-Ξ·β€²\eta'-glueball mixing from Bd/sβ†’J/Ψη(β€²)B_{d/s} \to J/\Psi \eta^{(')} Decays

We point out that the recent Belle measurements of the Bd/sβ†’J/Ψη(β€²)B_{d/s} \to J/\Psi \eta^{(')} decays imply large pseudoscalar glueball contents in the Ξ·(β€²)\eta^{(\prime)} meson. These decays are studied in the perturbative QCD (PQCD) approach, considering the Ξ·\eta-Ξ·β€²\eta'-GG mixing, where GG represents the pseudoscalar glueball. It is shown that the PQCD predictions for the Bd/sβ†’J/Ψη(β€²)B_{d/s} \to J/\Psi \eta^{(')} branching ratios agree well with the data for the mixing angle Ο•Gβ‰ˆ30∘\phi_G\approx 30^\circ between the flavor-singlet state and the pure pseudoscalar glueball. Extending the formalism to the Ξ·\eta-Ξ·β€²\eta'-GG-Ξ·c\eta_c tetramixing, the abnormally large observed Bdβ†’KΞ·β€²B_d\to K\eta' branching ratios are also explained. The proposed mixing formalism is applicable to other heavy meson decays into Ξ·(β€²)\eta^{(\prime)} mesons, and could be tested by future LHCb and Super-BB factory data.Comment: Improved version, references added, 7 pages, 1 figur

Study of the weak annihilation contributions in charmless Bs→VVB_s\to VV decays

In this paper, in order to probe the spectator-scattering and weak annihilation contributions in charmless Bsβ†’VVB_s\to VV (where VV stands for a light vector meson) decays, we perform the Ο‡2\chi^2-analyses for the end-point parameters within the QCD factorization framework, under the constraints from the measured BΛ‰sβ†’\bar B_{s}\toρ0Ο•\rho^0\phi, Ο•Kβˆ—0\phi K^{*0}, ϕϕ\phi \phi and Kβˆ—0KΛ‰βˆ—0K^{*0}\bar K^{*0} decays. The fitted results indicate that the end-point parameters in the factorizable and nonfactorizable annihilation topologies are non-universal, which is also favored by the charmless Bβ†’PPB\to PP and PVPV (where PP stands for a light pseudo-scalar meson) decays observed in the previous work. Moreover, the abnormal polarization fractions fL,βŠ₯(BΛ‰sβ†’Kβˆ—0KΛ‰βˆ—0)=(20.1Β±7.0)% ,(58.4Β±8.5)%f_{L,\bot}(\bar B_{s}\to K^{*0}\bar K^{*0})=(20.1\pm7.0)\%\,,(58.4\pm8.5)\% measured by the LHCb collaboration can be reconciled through the weak annihilation corrections. However, the branching ratio of BΛ‰sβ†’Ο•Kβˆ—0\bar B_{s}\to\phi K^{*0} decay exhibits a tension between the data and theoretical result, which dominates the contributions to Ο‡min2\chi_{\rm min}^2 in the fits. Using the fitted end-point parameters, we update the theoretical results for the charmless Bsβ†’VVB_s\to VV decays, which will be further tested by the LHCb and Belle-II experiments in the near future.Comment: 31 pages, 4 figures, 6 table
